Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) discovered she is pregnant in Wednesday's (August 19) episode of EastEnders, hours after ending her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood). The revelation may shed light on one of the soap's big flashforward mysteries.
Priya's Pregnancy Revelation
Priya had been sleeping with Max, who is due to marry Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). Cindy remained unaware of the betrayal and asked Priya to help with her hen do. Feeling guilty, Priya was conflicted, but when ex Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) proposed in a tearful moment, she decided ending things with Max was the only logical conclusion.
Max was taken aback by her decision but ultimately realised it was for the best. While Priya weighed up whether to marry Ravi, she attended Cindy's hen at The Vic, where she threw up over Cindy's dress after feeling off all day. Later, she sat in the ladies' loos with a pregnancy test in hand, looking shocked.
Flashforward Mystery
The question is whether the baby is Max's. If so, it would add fuel to speculation that Priya is the pregnant woman in Max's bed on New Year's Day. The BBC One soap aired a special flashforward episode in January, showing what New Year's Day 2027 will look like on the Square. On that day, Max is marrying a mystery woman, but a pregnant woman is sleeping in the bed beside him, not his bride-to-be.
