Emotions ran high in EastEnders as Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) decided to continue their affair in secret, behind the back of Peter Beale (Thomas Law). Mark was planning on departing Walford once and for all following his one night stand with Lauren, who found herself torn between the two men in her life.
Unhappy in her marriage and encouraging Peter to be more spontaneous, the car dealer was all set to put an end to things with Mark for good – but when he decided to stay for her, the two opted instead to see each other in secret. Elsewhere, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) was left in tears after brother Darnell Larson Jr agreed to get tested, thanks to his daughter Grace, who talked him around.
What happens next in EastEnders?
New spoilers for Monday, September 28 reveal that with Lauren and Mark having agreed to continue seeing one another in secret, the question is: will they get caught out? The next episode will inevitably deal with the fallout of their decision, but can they keep their dalliance under wraps?
Elsewhere, Denise is determined to keep herself busy and playing matchmaker for Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) proves to be the perfect distraction. Amy, however, is busy meeting up with Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) at his place – but she is left rattled when he suggests that they sleep together.
Denise's treatment and Suki's suspicions
Later, Denise receives a visit from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who encourages her to open up to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), but she soon finds herself questioning whether she should continue with treatment. Elsewhere, Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) is suspicious over Ash (Sakira Vel) and therefore takes matters into her own hands, contacting Gigi.
Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), meanwhile, fears the end for Harry's Barn as she learns the business could close if she doesn't find £25,000 by the end of the week. Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) offers the venue to be used for Nugget's (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) birthday party, hoping it will help raise its custom. But will it do the trick?
