EastEnders: Kat finds comfort with Oscar after Zoe's tragic death

New EastEnders spoilers reveal what happens next after Zoe Slater's (Michelle Ryan) tragic death, with Kat (Jessie Wallace) finding comfort in an unexpected place.

Monday's (September 14) episode saw Kat discover her daughter Zoe dead in bed, after the young woman sustained a head injury the previous day. The pain took hold while she was alone, crying out for her mum. Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) then shared the devastating news with the rest of the family, as Kat broke down in the Square while police took Zoe's body away.

Kat seeks comfort from Oscar

Tuesday's (September 15) episode sees the devastation continue at the Queen Vic as the Slaters try to make sense of Zoe's death. Consumed with grief, Kat removes herself from the family and heads to Container Junction, where she is comforted by Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier). Oscar talks about his mum Tanya's experience following the death of Abi.

Max affected and Penny's labour scare

Word of Zoe's death filters through Walford, impacting the person who last saw her alive the most: Max Branning (Jake Wood). The wedding shenanigans of last week also continue to affect those involved.

Elsewhere, Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) worries about her unborn baby as she experiences labour pains, but is reassured by doctors that everything is fine.

These scenes air Tuesday September 15 at 7:30pm on BBC One, or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
