Coronation Street has offered an update on Stella Price, more than a decade after she was last seen on the cobbles, confirming she is still living in France.
In Wednesday's episode (September 23), it was revealed that Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) was in France visiting Stella, confirming the character's whereabouts. The update will likely disappoint fans hoping for a Weatherfield return anytime soon.
Stella's Time on the Cobbles
Stella (Michelle Collins) joined the ITV soap in 2011, arriving in Weatherfield with daughter Eva (Catherine Tyldesley). They quickly became firm favourites with viewers.
It was eventually revealed that Stella was actually Leanne's biological mother. During her stint, Stella became landlady of the Rovers Return and embarked on a romance with younger man Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas).
Her former husband, Karl Munro (John Michie), also set fire to the pub in a devastating incident that led to the death of Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati).
Departure and Possible Return
Michelle left the soap in 2014 when Stella departed the street. Catherine continued as Eva before leaving in 2018 and making a comeback in 2025.
In 2025, Michelle - who plays Cindy Beale on EastEnders - spoke about a potential return to Corrie. She told Metro: "I don't think EastEnders would let me go across, would they? I know it's only two and a half hours on the train. Actually that might be quite funny, going from Cindy to Stella in like a day. But no, I don't think so. I think Cath will do a good job. She's running the pub, isn't she? I shall be watching because I love Cath and she told me she was going back, so I'm very excited for her. It'll be great. But I don't think so. I think it might confuse people a bit too much."
