Coronation Street viewers are convinced Debbie Webster is harbouring another secret child, with many suspecting Lauren Bolton could be her long-lost daughter.
Debbie (Sue Devaney) first appeared on the ITV soap in 1984 as Kevin's (Michael Le Vell) sister, departing a year later before returning in 2019. Over the years, she has become a fan favourite, but the businesswoman has endured a turbulent 12 months on the cobbles, including a dementia diagnosis and a spell behind bars.
She also dropped the bombshell that Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) is not her brother but her biological son, leaving the family reeling.
Fans spot resemblance
In recent instalments, Debbie's dementia appears to have deteriorated, with on-screen son Jonathan Howard recently disclosing the conclusion date for the storyline: August next year, reports the Daily Star.
Now, with further heartbreak and turmoil anticipated, viewers are speculating that another long-lost child revelation awaits Debbie. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, audiences suspect Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) might be connected to her.
One viewer wrote: "Cait Fitton and Sue Devaney actually do look very identical to each other as Cait looks a lot like a younger version of Sue during the 80s and 90s. Wouldn't surprise me if Lauren may end up being Debbie's other secret child."
Lauren's turbulent past
Someone else added: "Can't unsee this now." A third chimed in and agreed: "Most likely." Echoing their thoughts, another social media user penned: "Of course, everyone seems to be related on that show!"
Lauren Bolton first graced the cobbles in 2022 and has since been at the centre of numerous gripping storylines. From being raised by her racist far-right extremist father Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) to killing her abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill), Lauren's time in Weatherfield has been anything but uneventful.
In recent weeks, she has been forging a close bond with newcomer Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike), who relocated to Weatherfield last year alongside his family to take over the Rovers Return.
