ITV soap enthusiasts will spot a recognisable face on Emmerdale next week as a Coronation Street star has landed a role on the show. Actress Pippa Fulton, known for her recent appearance in Coronation Street, portrays Kylie, a kidnapper who holds Lewis Barton captive in a gripping storyline.
Kidnapping Drama Unfolds
During upcoming scenes this week, Vinny Dingle surprises Lewis Barton with an impromptu getaway to Madeira. However, Lewis's unease with the last-minute nature of the trip leads him to withdraw from the holiday. A disappointed yet understanding Lewis urges Vinny to still embark on the holiday without him, but quickly has a change of heart following supportive words from his brother Ross Barton.
As Lewis frantically rushes to meet Vinny at the airport, his taxi journey takes a dramatic turn when a van screeches to a stop nearby and he is abducted. Spoilers for next week reveal the consequences as a woman named Kylie keeps him captive. Ross receives an alarming message warning that Lewis faces danger unless his father returns 'Penny' to the kidnapper.
Secrets Revealed
An anxious Ross urges Liam Cavanagh not to involve the police and insists they contact Lewis's adoptive father, Jeffrey. After discovering no useful information, Liam is compelled to reveal that Lewis's biological father is Kev Townsend. Following the shocking revelation, Kylie confronts Ross and discloses she is keeping Lewis prisoner. He will only be freed when Kev returns 'Penny', which she describes as the 'most precious thing in the world'.
Insisting it is a matter of life and death, Liam persuades Claudette to reveal Kev's location, eventually tracking him down selling cakes from his van. However, Kev's attitude rubs Ross up the wrong way, and the pair quickly come to blows. In the aftermath, Kev claims Penny is a diamond he offloaded to a pawn shop, prompting Ross to demand he retrieve it. Yet once left alone, Kev is seen clutching a diamond around his neck, revealing he never sold it.
Threats and Confrontations
Ross receives a menacing text from Kylie featuring scalpels, before Kylie video calls Kev, ordering him to return 'Penny' before the day is out. She underlines her deadly seriousness by referencing her eight years in Holloway prison. Kev initially tells Liam and Ross that the pawn shop has already sold Penny, only to later claim he tracked it down and bought it back. Unconvinced, Ross knocks Kev unconscious, informing Liam he intends to use Kev as a bargaining chip. Later, Ross comes face to face with Kylie in a bid to secure Lewis's release.
