Coronation Street fans fear Eva Price's horror fall could lead to a potential exit. Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) made her debut back in 2011 before making her exit in 2018. Last year though, Eva returned to the cobbles where she became the Rovers Return landlady.
Eva rocked back up to Weatherfield with her new family: boyfriend Ben (Aaron McCusker), his mother Maggie (Pauline McGlynn) and his two sons Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike) and Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). And it's fair to say the family has had a dramatic few months, especially after they found out that Will had been groomed by teacher Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) for months.
Eva's terrifying week on the cobbles
Over on the soap this week, things took a terrifying turn for Eva after she was left unconscious in the pub's cellar after Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) pushed past her. Sam - who has been struggling with his mental health in recent months - was looking for his phone in the Rovers after it had been confiscated by dad Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). While Eva was working, a panicked Sam came across Eva and ended up running past her, knocking her down into the cellar.
Sam went to check on Eva but made a quick escape, thinking he had killed her, and headed back home without telling anyone about Eva. In Friday's episode (September 25), an unconscious Eva was eventually discovered by Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger).
Paramedics called to the scene
Glenda then called emergency services who arrived at the scene and said Eva might have bashed her abdomen on the way down. When asked if she was going to be ok, the paramedic said they would know more once they got to hospital. Eva then regained consciousness and yelled out over the pain in her stomach. She then informed Glenda that she was pushed down the stairs.
Fans fear an exit twist
But with her injuries not looking good, fans fear this could lead to a health or exit twist for Eva. “Hope Eva is going to be okay,” said one person on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. Someone else added: “Think she’ll end up suffering with her injuries for a long time.” A third chimed in: “Same, can’t imagine she’ll recover quickly.” A fourth wrote: “Wonder if she’ll leave the street for a bit after the fall.”
