Celebs Who Rejected Celebrity Traitors and May Regret It

The latest series of The Celebrity Traitors is drawing record audiences, with 9.1 million viewers tuning into the first episode. The show has already seen Richard E. Grant admit to being a Traitor, James Acaster recruited, and Ross Kemp suspicious of everyone. Yet not every famous face wanted to take part, and some have since expressed regret.

Stars Who Said No

Liam Gallagher confirmed on X that he was asked to appear but declined, saying he was 'not a celebrity'. Lorraine Kelly also turned down the show due to her busy schedule, though she hinted at her disappointment when interviewing Joe Wilkinson.

Miriam Margolyes, however, has no regrets, telling a crowd at the Cheltenham Festival she 'can't think of anything she'd rather less do'. Ricky Gervais reportedly declined over fears that bigger names would be targeted first, later joking the BBC 'couldn't afford him'.

Regrets and Missed Opportunities

Danny Dyer, who had not seen the civilian version, now regrets his decision, saying he would do it if asked again. Martin Lewis admitted to feeling 'gutted' after watching the last series, despite initially saying no due to time constraints.

Peter Capaldi turned down the show to avoid increased fame, while Richard Osman said he would only join if guaranteed a Traitor role. Daisy May Cooper and her brother Charlie pulled out weeks before filming, reportedly due to family commitments.

Others Who Declined

Karren Brady declined due to her full-time job, and Lesley Joseph revealed she was rejected despite wanting to take part. The show's success suggests these stars may miss out on future opportunities.
