Celebrity Traitors viewers 'gutted' over Rob Beckett's exit

Rob Beckett has been eliminated from Celebrity Traitors after the three Traitors chose him for murder on Thursday, October 15. James Acaster, Maya Jama and Professor Hannah Fry, who are misleading the Faithful as Traitors, selected Rob from four concealed contestants.

Rob Beckett's murder

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Rob Beckett had been hidden within the castle's grounds, awaiting a knock at the door. James informed Rob: "Rob Beckett, you have been murdered."

Rob responded: "It's over, I'm a dead man." He continued: "It's been amazing, I will cherish my memories," before pledging that his closest friend Romesh would avenge his demise.

Romesh's reaction

Romesh confided to cameras: "I feel like I let Rob down, because Rob is so unthreatening that he's never going to get banished. He's the guy that we should have given the key to, and he also happens to be one of my best friends. I'm sad, it's not going to be the same without him."

Viewer response

Audiences were left devastated by Rob's departure, with one stating: "I'm absolutely gutted that Rob has gone." Another remarked: "It's actually sick to split up Romesh and Rob." "Fuming they've split up Rob and Rom," another concurred. Someone else commented: "Gutted for Rob, he was fantastic." Yet another posted: "Who do you mean I'm crying over Romesh getting upset that Rob is gone?"

Rob's enthusiasm for the show

Ahead of the forthcoming series of The Celebrity Traitors, which also features James Blunt, Miranda Hart and Michael Sheen among its cast, Rob opened up about his enthusiasm for the programme.

He commented: "Me and my family loved the first one. I watched it with the kids. It's first thing we watched as a family that we all enjoyed at the same time. We watched the final together on holiday and had a great time. So, the family are all behind me and really happy and supportive."

Reflecting on appearing alongside fellow comedians and longstanding friends, he said: "It's quite a reflective moment to consider this journey we've all gone on to now be on the biggest show on TV. Everyone wants to be on it, and we're very lucky to be here and to be here with friends and people that I've come through the ranks with and been able to confide in over the years. It's quite nice to see all of us here as grown-ups."

The Celebrity Traitors continues on Friday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
