The Celebrity Traitors is returning to the BBC for a second series, with 21 famous faces joining host Claudia Winkleman in the Scottish Highlands for the ultimate game of trust and betrayal.
A first look at the new series shows Claudia bringing together a starry cast as they take on the ultimate test of detection, trust and betrayal. Claudia can be seen standing at the front of a church in front of the new cast, saying: "A moment of silence, for the celebrities gathered today." Before the camera pans around to the full cast sitting in the pews facing the presenter. She then added: "Thoughts and prayers" before strutting out of the church doors, as the theme tune dramatically played.
Star-studded line-up revealed
The celebrity cast have all gathered in the Scottish Highlands, where they'll be forced to work out who among them can be trusted – and who is secretly plotting against the group. There's certainly no shortage of famous faces entering the castle for the second series.
Among those taking part are Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Maya Jama.
They're joined by Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
What to expect from the new series
The line-up means viewers can expect a bizarre mix of comedians, actors, broadcasters, musicians and TV stars – all thrown together for one very unpredictable competition.
Claudia will once again oversee proceedings as the celebrities attempt to figure out who is playing honestly and who has secretly been recruited as a Traitor. The series promises the same mix of detection, backstabbing and trust that made the celebrity version such a hit when it first arrived.
The Celebrity Traitors series two is coming soon to BBC One and iPlayer, although an exact transmission date has not yet been announced. The second series will consist of 10 episodes, each lasting 60 minutes, and is produced by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
With such a wildly varied group of celebrities being thrown together, the biggest question may be whether friendship, fame or sheer suspicion wins out once the game gets underway. And with Claudia Winkleman holding the reins, viewers can expect plenty of tense accusations, dramatic reveals and spectacular betrayals along the way.
