Celebrity Traitors viewers are convinced that Traitor James Acaster is facing an early exit after his latest move during a mission left his fellow Traitors frustrated.
The comedian began the BBC show as a Faithful before being recruited by Richard E Grant and Maya Jama. Known as the most Faithful Traitor, James has also been called the unlikely heartthrob of this year's series.
Mission Refusal Sparks Backlash
During the mission, the Traitors were tasked with earning money for the prize pot by moving around to build a new shield while simultaneously destroying others. James refused to move because he had Michael Sheen and Bash either side of him, which caused chaos among the three Traitors as Kenny and Maya accused him of leaving them exposed.
One fan commented: "Whilst I agree with James A's decision to stay still, he really should have taken his blindfold off at least. He really left the others out to dry then." Another replied: "Showed a lack of solidarity. But I think he was so scared that even the noise of that could give him away. But being the 'faithfuls traitor' is not a strategy that will work long term. The other traitors see him as a liability. Kenny will be gunning for him after the perfume comment."
Fans Defend James's Position
However, some viewers defended James, noting his difficult position. One fan shared: "He was situated between two pretty switched-on faithfuls. Maya and Kenny were next to each other and could therefore move towards each other and away from the faithful on their other side - poor James could only move towards a faithful. I don't blame him at all."
Others pointed out that Kenny and Maya also avoided getting too close to Michael Sheen, with one fan saying: "Even Kenny and Maya would have to admit that because they did exactly the same and were both too scared to get too close to Michael when it came to it. It just wasn't worth the risk. Maya made a massive error with the puzzle too so it's not like James was the only one potentially costing them. Kenny's strategy of walking around was clever."
The next murder is expected to be between Sebastian (Bash), Miranda and Romesh, after which another roundtable will take place where anyone could be eliminated. It remains to be seen whether Kenny and Maya will turn the heat on James at the next roundtable.
