Celebrity Traitors viewers are convinced they have identified the contestant who will be banished first after spotting a telling clue. The BBC competition returned last week and witnessed one of the biggest Traitor errors in the programme's history.
Claudia Winkleman divided the 21 participants into Faithfuls and Traitors, initially selecting Love Island presenter Maya Jama and veteran actor Richard E. Grant as her Traitor pairing. Richard, 69, was particularly delighted to have been chosen as one of the programme's villains.
Richard's Gaffe
However, the actor committed an enormous error when he revealed to a room packed with Faithfuls that he was in fact a Traitor. He subsequently confessed to the camera that the gaffe may have been "the biggest mistake I have ever made". Audiences are certain it has led to his elimination from the castle, reports Wales Online.
The most recent episode concluded on a cliffhanger as the participants assembled for their first banishment of the series, but the scene cut to black before anyone had submitted their vote. The sudden ending has left audiences convinced that Richard was banished by his fellow contestants following an almost unanimous ballot.
Fan Theories
Fans are certain that the broadcaster abruptly ended the episode because the majority of the Faithfuls will vote for Richard. Taking to social media, one viewer commented: "I'm assuming the reason they cut it there is cus the votes aren't going to be close and the majority is going to be for Richard. and since getting out a traitor on the first round table is such a huge iconic moment for the show they've made it so we're left on this huge cliff-hanger for a week until we see the moment unfold."
Another fan echoed this theory, writing: "No Voting Cliffhanger which means EVERYONE voted for Richard E Grant. He will OFFICIALLY go down as the WORST Traitor of all time #CelebrityTraitors #Thetraitors." A further supporter expressed similar thoughts: "I think its a majority vote for Richard and they didn't want to make the murder the cliffhanger because we already found out who the options were earlier in the episode."

Meanwhile, some are already preparing themselves for the star's premature departure, with one fan posting: "If Richard actually goes this early I'll be gutted. He may be an absolutely catastrophic Traitor but he's definitely entertaining," while another added: "I can't even be mad I'd just feel bad for him he wanted that Traitor role so badly."
The Celebrity Traitors sees a group of well-known contestants battling to secure £100,000 for their chosen charity. This series boasts the participation of comedian Joe Lycett, American actress Myha'la and musician Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
