Michael Downs, the first housemate evicted from Big Brother Australia, has accused contestant Holly Young of faking a romance with Colin to gain notoriety. In a farewell message left for fellow participants, the 47-year-old claimed the model was 'playing a game' by starting a relationship with the 21-year-old MMA fighter.
Downs stated that the strategic move was 'pretty obvious to everyone in the house except Colin'. The confession prompted Colin to question the romance in his own piece to camera, saying, 'If something is too good to be true, it usually is, right?'
Viewers have echoed Downs' doubts on social media, with one writing on X: 'Michael is all talk the moment he leaves but bro is 100% right.' Another added: 'Holly and Colin just don't make sense one bit!'
Channel Ten defended the couple, with a spokesperson telling Daily Mail: 'Big Brother has been home to some iconic romances over the years, and it looks like Holly and Colin are making their way onto that list. Their relationship formed organically in the house.'
This comes after Holly was caught on camera changing her behaviour when she spotted the lens, leading fans to accuse her of using Colin to stay in the house. A TikTok video showed her becoming touchy with him only after making eye contact with the camera.
