Big Brother viewers divided over Omar's 'offensive' weight joke to Yasmin
Big Brother viewers divided over Omar's weight joke to Yasmin

Big Brother viewers were left divided after housemate Omar made an "offensive" remark about Yasmin's weight during the latest episode of the ITV2 reality show.

The comment came as the house was transformed into the House of Nothing, with housemates stripped of everyday luxuries including hot water and beds. They have been winning back comforts by completing tasks.

Nominations drama and the garden exchange

On September 30, contestants competed for the right to nominate, but Omar, Pauline, and Samuel were banned from nominating after a vote by fellow housemates. However, it was Omar's comment that caught viewers' attention.

Omar walked into the garden carrying Rhianna in his arms, joining Yasmin and Frankie. Yasmin jokingly asked, "Can you take me there?" Omar replied: "You? We're gonna need three Omars to do that one. Minimum three." Yasmin, stunned, laughed and said: "He's a f**** cheeky get!"

Rhianna demands an apology

Rhianna, unimpressed, demanded "Omar, apologise," but he refused. Yasmin turned to Frankie for support, asking: "Frankie, what are you doing about it, 'bestie'?" Frankie replied, "I'm just gonna allow him to get away with it," and laughed. Yasmin added, "He keeps calling me fat, Frankie," and Rhianna again asked Omar to apologise without success.

Viewers react on social media

Viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their discomfort. One posted: "Omar is absolutely sick for saying that about Yasmin #bbuk no one pulled him about it." Another wrote: "I didn't like that comment Omar made... #BBUK," while a third said: "#BBUK three Omars ... is wild and rude." A fourth viewer added: "Tbh I find what Omar said about Yasmin [...] offensive."

One fan asked: "And is Omar gonna get given a warning for fat shaming Yasmin or?" While some were upset the comment "slide," others found humour in the exchange. One person wrote: "Omar and Yasmin bickering has me creased [laughing emoji]." Yasmin also poked fun at Omar after the comment, and the duo appear to have a sibling-style relationship.

Big Brother is streaming on ITVX.
