BBC Contestant Told Off Over Rob Brydon Joke

Last summer, BBC viewers were captivated by Rob Brydon's new game show, Destination X. The series followed 13 contestants traveling across Europe in a blackout bus, trying to deduce their location through challenges. Each episode, the contestant farthest from the correct location was eliminated.

Show Returns After Judith Magambo's Win

Reports indicate the show is returning for another season following Judith Magambo's victory. Ex-contestant Daren Parr, who narrowly missed the final, shared behind-the-scenes moments, including being told off by bosses.

Daren's Joke About Rob Brydon

Speaking to SMC Coach Hire, Daren said: 'What you saw is what you've got. They did not re-take anything once. Apart from one time in Austria, when Rob Brydon got on the bus wearing a brown sheepskin jacket. It was the elimination part, so serious. He turned around, and I joked, "It's John Watson," and everyone cracked up. The director said over speakers, "Daren, you can't do stuff like that." I had banter with Rob.'

Strict Rules on Set

Daren revealed contestants couldn't wear branded clothing and had a nightly 'safe area.' He explained: 'There were 48 vehicles following the bus. They built a 10-foot high wall, with security and a medical officer, so no one could cheat. Also, you could only use the toilet cubicle on the bus, not the other method. That was a big no-no. When off the bus, we wore headphones and goggles. No watches allowed.'

Destination X is available on BBC iPlayer.
