Alex Jones Reveals The One Show Off-Air for World Cup

Alex Jones has confirmed a shake-up to the BBC programme The One Show. The presenter announced during Tuesday's episode that the show would be off air on Wednesday, June 17, due to World Cup football coverage.

Schedule Change Details

Jones, co-hosting with Roman Kemp, explained that the magazine-style programme, typically airing weekdays at 7pm on BBC One, will not broadcast on Wednesday because of matches including England v Croatia and Portugal v DR Congo. She also revealed that when The One Show returns on Thursday, June 18, it will air on BBC Two instead of its usual home.

What to Expect on Thursday

Wrapping up Tuesday's show, Jones told viewers: "We are off air tomorrow for the World Cup, but we are back on Thursday on BBC Two, and we'll be joined by Enola Holmes star Himesh Patel, Tyler West and Molly Rainford." Kemp added: "Have a great night. Come on, England!"

Tuesday's Guests

Tuesday's instalment featured interviews with Hollywood star Bill Pullman, Wham! singer Andrew Ridgeley, and talk show host Lorraine Kelly. Kelly discussed her new book The Island Secret, set on the Orkney Islands, and joked about why it contains no sex scenes: "That's why there's not sex in it, because my mother… I don't think anybody can't write about sex very well, we all know where it goes and what happens. We don't need to read about it thank you!"

The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One on weekdays.
