Kaye Adams is set to make her return to the airwaves with a special one-off appearance on STV Radio. It will mark the Scottish journalist's first major live broadcasting role since leaving BBC Radio Scotland over bullying allegations.
Reunion with Shereen Nanjiani
The veteran broadcaster will reunite with long time friend and fellow Scottish broadcaster Shereen Nanjiani. The duo will host a special edition of Sunday Brunch on October 4, with the show taking over the airwaves from 9am until midday.
For Kaye, the appearance marks a significant return to live radio following her departure from BBC Radio Scotland. The star had spent 15 years at the helm of the flagship Mornings With programme.
Details of Her BBC Exit
Kaye was taken off air in October 2025 following multiple complaints from colleagues who accused her of bullying. It was later confirmed that she would not be returning to the station following an internal investigation over her conduct.
Reflecting on the difficult period afterwards, Kaye described it as "brutal" and said she had been attempting to get her life "back on track".
What to Expect from the Show
Now she will be back on the radio for a one off Sunday morning show alongside Shereen. The pair promise the broadcast will be full of conversation, music, and memories from their long careers in broadcasting.
The presenters have known each other for decades, having first crossed paths during their time at STV in the late 80s.
Speaking about her return to the radio, Kaye explained that it is particularly meaningful. "STV has such a special place in my heart and I’m delighted to be back for a trip down memory lane with my old pal, Shereen 'The Screen Queen' Nanjiani," she stated.
"This show will give her the chance to tell everyone how excruciating my accent was when I walked into STV HQ 38 years ago!"
STV History and Shereen's Return
The programme will also see Shereen return to STV for the first time in two decades. She previously worked as an STV News anchor before leaving the broadcaster.
However for Kaye, her relationship with STV stretches back even further. She joined the organisation as a news reporter in 1988, covering major events including the Lockerbie disaster, before becoming a presenter on the flagship news programme.
The Falkirk native has remained part of STV throughout her career, with her long running role as a presenter on Loose Women.
Shereen said the reunion has given the pair an opportunity to look back on their friendship and careers. She said: "I’m delighted to get this chance to co-host with Kaye as STV is where our lifelong friendship began and I have so many happy memories of our time there.
"We’ve had a lot of fun reminiscing and choosing a great playlist of our favourite songs for the show."
The Scot added: "I’m looking forward to sharing our stories with listeners – even the embarrassing ones! It’s been decades since Kaye and I presented a show together so I hope we’re still friends at the end of it…"
STV Radio Programme Director David Treasurer said bringing the pair together was a full circle moment for the broadcaster.
He said: "Kaye and Shereen are Scottish broadcasting legends who have both played a huge part in STV’s history, so it feels like a real full circle moment to welcome them as guest hosts of Sunday Brunch on STV Radio."
