Gina Torres' LA Home Burglarised: $200k+ Jewellery Stolen in Brazen Heist
Suits Star Gina Torres' Home Burglarised in LA

In a shocking incident, the Los Angeles residence of actress Gina Torres, famed for her role in the legal drama Suits, was burglarised last Friday night, with thieves making off with a substantial haul of cash and high-value jewellery.

Brazen Break-In at San Fernando Valley Property

According to law enforcement sources speaking to NBC4 LA, the burglary took place at the 56-year-old star's home in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene around 7pm after being alerted to the crime.

Officers discovered that the perpetrators had gained entry by smashing windows, a clear sign of a forced and aggressive break-in. A neighbour reportedly witnessed two men exiting Torres' property and loading bags into a vehicle before fleeing the area.

Substantial Financial Losses Reported

The thieves escaped with a significant amount of valuables, including over $25,000 in cash and jewellery estimated to be worth more than $200,000. This brings the total estimated loss from the burglary to well over $225,000.

As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the case, and the investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department remains ongoing. Torres was fortunately not at home during the incident, avoiding any direct confrontation with the intruders.

Torres' Connection to Royalty and Suits Legacy

Gina Torres portrayed the formidable managing partner Jessica Pearson across seven seasons of Suits from 2011 to 2018, starring alongside Meghan Markle, who played paralegal-turned-attorney Rachel Zane. Their on-screen chemistry contributed significantly to the show's success.

Off-screen, Torres was among the Suits cast members who attended Markle's royal wedding to Prince Harry at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in May 2018. However, recent comments from Torres suggest that the former co-stars have not maintained regular contact since that celebrated event.

Golden Globes Reunion Highlights Distance

At the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony, Torres reunited with several Suits colleagues, including Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, and Patrick J. Adams, Markle's on-screen husband. Notably absent was Meghan Markle herself.

When questioned by Variety on the red carpet about whether anyone had contacted Markle to invite her, Torres candidly revealed, 'We don't have her number. We just don't so. She'll see. She'll watch. She'll be happy that we're here.'

An insider later told Page Six that the Duchess of Sussex had indeed been invited to the Golden Globes but was unable to attend due to a 'previous commitment.'

Reflections on Changing Relationships

This isn't the first time Torres has addressed her limited contact with Markle. In a 2019 interview with Glamour, she explained, 'No, I’m not in touch with Meghan. There’s no story in why I’m not in touch with Meghan.'

She elaborated on the transient nature of relationships in the acting world, noting, 'When you’re an actor, you meet hundreds of people during your career... you can’t bring all those people with you.' Despite the distance, Torres fondly recalled, 'I enjoyed Meghan when we worked together, adding we had a great time.'

Current Projects and Moving Forward

Beyond her Suits legacy, Gina Torres continues to build her acting portfolio. She currently stars as Special Agent Linda Grant in the Fox series Memory Of A Killer, alongside Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli.

As authorities work to apprehend those responsible for the burglary, Torres' fans and the entertainment community are left hoping for a swift resolution to this distressing violation of her personal security.
