The sister of a Saturday Night Live writer has been reported missing in Los Angeles, prompting a public appeal for information from her family and the authorities.

Jimmy Fowlie, a 40-year-old writer for the iconic US comedy show, shared an official missing persons bulletin from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on his social media on Monday, 22 December. The alert concerns his 38-year-old sister, Christina Lynn Downer.
"My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe," Fowlie wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post. He urged his followers to help circulate the police notice, which states she was last seen in the Los Angeles area.

The LAPD notice includes two photographs of Downer and contains crucial identifying information. Fowlie clarified that she may be using more than one surname, telling the public: "Her married name is Downer but she may go by Christina Fowlie."
In his caption, the comedy writer provided direct contact details for anyone with information, writing: "Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police. The phone number is 213 996 1800 and her case number is 25237639."
The police report explicitly echoes the family's distress, stating: "Christina's family and friends are concerned for her safety."
