Prince Harry is scheduled to travel to the UK in July for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, set to be held in Birmingham. The visit has sparked rumors of a potential reconciliation with his father, King Charles, but an insider has delivered a brutal two-word verdict: it is "too late."
Tina Brown's Brutal Warning
Ex-Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, writing on her Fresh Hell Substack, accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of trying to leverage their children to secure official police protection for the trip. Brown stated: "If Harry thought that bringing his children would force Ravec’s hand, he was, as he is so often, hopelessly misguided." She added: "Right now, the Palace is in a crouch position about increased scrutiny of royal finances, thanks to the Andrew Windsor-Mountbatten scandals."
Brown described Harry's reaction to being denied security as explosive, noting that a source close to him claimed the rug "was pulled out from under their feet at the 11th hour." She dismissed this, saying: "What rug? The only rug under the Sussexes is a flying carpet on which they circle the globe in a cloud of persistent delusion."
Uncertainty Over Family Attendance
Prince Harry will travel from his home in Montecito, California, and reportedly planned to bring Meghan Markle along with their two children, Archie (7) and Lilibet (5). However, it is increasingly uncertain who will join him due to security concerns. This trip would mark the first time Harry's children have visited the UK in four years. Harry has previously expressed a desire to bring his children back to his country of birth.
BBC reports that the security arrangements for the visit remain unclear. The Metropolitan Police's Royal and Specialist Protection (Ravec) has not confirmed whether official protection will be provided.
Criticism of Premature Announcements
Tina Brown also criticized the Sussexes' tendency to make premature announcements, stating: "The baffling thing about both Harry and Meghan is their repeated tendency to make premature announcements before the underlying facts have been nailed down. Indeed, all their troubles of the past six years have stemmed from magical thinking that what they want will become instant reality, starting with Megxit itself."
It remains to be seen whether Prince Harry will meet with any members of his family during his UK visit, including King Charles or his brother, Prince William.
