Love Is Blind UK star Ciara Murphy has hit back at online backlash just days before her Netflix wedding is set to air.
The Pilates instructor, from London, is among 30 singles who entered the famous pods in hopes of finding 'The One'. Just like past contestants, Ciara went on a series of dates without ever laying eyes on her partners.
Engagement and Viewer Criticism
The goal was to build a strong emotional connection that doesn't rely on physical attraction, and Ciara sparked more than one. She quickly connected with Jack Bradshaw and Ajay Cheema, but ultimately got engaged to Ajay.
But her love story has caught viewers' attention for all the wrong reasons. Many have complained about Ciara's luxurious expectations for her partners.
In the season three premiere, the 29-year-old made it clear that she has expensive taste when it comes to dating, revealing that a man once spent £15,000 on a first date with her.
Netflix's Description and Social Media Response
Netflix's description of the Londoner also confirmed her requirements, stating: "Ciara has a taste for luxury, which manifests in extravagant brunches, dinner parties, and at least three dates a week with eligible bachelors whom she expects to pull out all the stops."
Viewers at home have since gathered online to slam her expensive standards. Now, the reality star has silently responded to critics in a social media post.
On Sunday afternoon (August 23), she re-shared a supportive Instagram story from journalist and fan of the show Jason Okundaye. The post simply reads: "Everyone hating on her when she's the realest on the show idc [I don't care]."
Support and Upcoming Episodes
Other viewers have also voiced support for Ciara, with one X user posting: "I like Ciara, she is very vocal about what she likes and what she expects.. she hasn't tried to be anything else. #LoveisblindUK."
Someone else said: "Unpopular opinion on this season of LIB UK, my favourite woman after Yasmin is Ciara. I love a woman who is clear about her expectations [...]."
The first eight episodes of Love Is Blind UK season three are now streaming on Netflix, with the final three instalments set to air this Wednesday, August 26.
