The cause of death for Bárbara Jankavski, a Brazilian influencer known as 'Human Barbie', has been confirmed as accidental cocaine use. The 31-year-old was found unconscious in a São Paulo flat on November 2, 2025, and died at the scene.
Authorities launched an investigation after Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, a 51-year-old public defender, told police he had paid Jankavski for sexual services on the evening she died. He claimed they both consumed illegal drugs before going to sleep. When he noticed she was not moving, he called emergency services and attempted to help her for nearly nine minutes before paramedics arrived.
Police reported that Jankavski was found wearing only underwear, with bruising on her back and an injury near her left eye. A friend told police she had tripped and struck her face earlier that week. Despite the findings aligning with Pinto de Vitto's account, Jankavski's relatives have cast doubt on the investigation.
Jankavski had built a substantial social media following, with 55,000 Instagram followers and 344,000 on TikTok, by documenting her aesthetic transformation. She underwent 27 plastic surgeries in her quest to resemble a Barbie doll, with her most recent procedure being a facelift in June 2025. She had been absent from social media for over a month before her death.
Her final post featured another digital creator, Avós Da Razão, with the caption: 'I would love to meet you, beautiful, full of energy, life and good humor!' Fans expressed shock and condolences, with one writing: 'Wow, when I saw it was her I couldn't believe it rest in peace my love.'
