Former The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Wright was found dead in a drainage ditch in Thailand, an inquest has heard. The 33-year-old, from Stanford-le-Hope in Essex, was discovered on March 14 in Phuket province, Chelmsford Coroner's Court was told on Tuesday.
Court co-ordinator Matthew Austin informed the inquest that Wright was spending time in Thailand and was found in a ditch off Bang Thao 2 Alley in the Choeng Thale sub-district. A passer-by spotted his body.
Following repatriation to Essex, a post-mortem examination was carried out at Basildon Hospital. The cause of death is pending toxicology results. Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes opened and adjourned the inquest until a full hearing on September 14.
Wright had stated on Instagram in January that he had moved to Thailand, with his final post on March 6 showing snippets of his time in Phuket. He appeared on ITV's TOWIE in 2018 and also featured on MTV's Ex On The Beach.
Tributes have been paid, including from fellow TOWIE star Chloe Brockett, who wrote on Instagram: 'Rest in peace Jordan.' The coroner offered condolences to his family and friends.
