EastEnders' Chelsea Fox has been left devastated after learning that her son Jordan may never walk again, but fans are now predicting a surprise romance with Ian Beale.
Jordan's Accident and Aftermath
As avid viewers of the BBC soap will recall, a guilt-stricken Chelsea (played by Zaraah Abrahams) had an argument with her son Jordan (portrayed by Jahsaiah Williams), which led him to run outside and get hit by a car driven by Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
On Thursday (June 11), local councillor Ian attempted to persuade Chelsea to accept some accountability for the accident, hoping that any potential legal repercussions would be less severe if the blame were divided.
"He needs you. That's all that matters right now," Ian advised Chelsea during a heartfelt conversation at the hospital. Chelsea began to confide in Ian and confessed her guilt, reports OK! "All I can think is that 'I put you in here'. And if he has done serious damage, for the rest of his life, I'm gonna think, 'This is what I've done'," she disclosed.
Devastating News from the Surgeon
Later, Jordan's paediatric surgeon delivered the distressing news to Chelsea that her son wasn't responding to stimuli and might not be able to walk again. Despite the doctor's assurance that Jordan had a good chance of making a full recovery with prolonged rehabilitation, Chelsea couldn't stop blaming herself for her part in the incident.
Chelsea suspected that Ian's visit to her and Jordan was merely an attempt at damage control, leading her to confront him at his home in a heated exchange. Upon revealing the devastating news that Jordan could be paralysed, Chelsea slapped Ian across the face. Ian defended himself, stating, "You said that you shouted at him so much you scared him, and that's why he ran across the road. We're both at fault."
