Singer D4vd Named as Suspect in Teenager's Death

Emerging singer D4vd is reportedly being viewed as a suspect in the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was discovered in the boot of a Tesla registered to him. The body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in early September at a Los Angeles impound lot after officials reported a foul smell emanating from the vehicle.

Investigation and Police Raid

According to reports from outlets including TMZ, NBC Los Angeles, and KABC, which cited unnamed sources, the musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is considered a suspect in the ongoing investigation. While he has not been formally charged or officially named as a suspect by authorities, it is alleged that D4vd has not been cooperative with police as they attempt to piece together the events leading to Hernandez's death.

In a significant development, the Los Angeles Police Department raided a Hollywood Hills home where D4vd resided in September, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Investigators have told media they are "certain they are going down the right path for a suspect."

A Tragic Discovery and a Life Cut Short

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was last seen alive in April 2024 in Lake Elsinore, roughly an hour's drive southeast of Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Department Captain Scot M. Williams stated in September that it was "very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered." Her official cause of death remains undetermined.

Hernandez was remembered on a GoFundMe page as a "beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend," with her family described as "heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss." Her brother, Matthew Rivas, previously confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that the family was aware his sister knew D4vd, adding that she vanished while on her way to see a movie with him. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office also reported that Hernandez had run away from home a few times before her disappearance.

In the wake of the discovery, D4vd cut his world tour short. The Independent has contacted both the LAPD and D4vd's lawyer for comment.

D4vd's music career skyrocketed on TikTok, where he has gathered nearly 4 million followers. His top hits, Romantic Homicide and Here With Me, have each been streamed on Spotify at least 1.6 million times.
