Count Binface, the electoral candidate aiming to unseat Nigel Farage as MP for Clacton-on-Sea, has called on SEGA to release Shenmue 4 and reinstate London's Trocadero arcade. In a video shared by Shenmue_Dojo on X, Binface demands the company nationalise the game 'along with Adele'.
Binface's message to SEGA
“I’m not just saying ‘hello’ SEGA, I’ve got a little bone to pick with you,” his video begins. “The fans would like to campaign for an update from you, SEGA, about Shenmue 4. They can’t leave you guys on another cliffhanger for years!
“The Shenmue fans are amazing. SEGA! You need to get your bottoms in gear, sort yourselves out, and get the update done.”
Long wait for Shenmue 4
SEGA took almost 20 years to publish Shenmue 3 after Shenmue 2. The third game ended on a cliffhanger in 2019, leaving fans concerned about another lengthy wait. Even if Binface wins the Clacton seat, he is unlikely to influence SEGA's release schedule.
The video was not published on Binface's own social channels, leading some to believe the script was submitted for his Cameo page. However, Binface has previously mentioned the Trocadero. While running for London Mayor in 2021, his manifesto included returning the venue 'back into a truly top-notch video arcade'.
Trocadero and SegaWorld
The London Trocadero housed SegaWorld from 1996 to 2011, a key part of the city's arcade scene. “I’d quite like to reboot SEGA World in London’s Trocadero and have old Sonic the Hedgehog back in his prime. Oh, that would be wonderful,” Binface says in his latest video.
Meanwhile, Shenmue fans can look forward to a current generation refresh of Shenmue 3, coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2026.
