Cher's Son Elijah Blue Allman Arrested for Assault at New Hampshire Prep School

Cher's son, Elijah Blue Allman, was arrested on Friday and charged with assault after an incident at the elite St Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. Police responded to reports of a man causing a disturbance in the dining hall, acting belligerently. Allman, 47, faces two counts of simple assault, and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct. He was taken to Merrimack County Jail but later released, with a future court date to be determined.

Allman, the son of Cher and the late Gregg Allman, was the lead guitarist for the rock band Deadsy for 28 years before stepping away in 2023. He has a history of substance abuse, which Cher has publicly acknowledged. In 2023, she filed for a conservatorship, claiming he was 'substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.'

Last June, Allman was hospitalised after being found unresponsive. An insider told the press that Cher is 'doing everything she can to get him the help he needs.' In a 2014 interview, Allman spoke about his struggles with drugs, stating he started at age 11 and later turned to heroin, which he said 'kind of saved me' during a difficult period.

Allman is currently going through a divorce from Marieangela King. In September 2023, King accused Cher of hiring men to kidnap Allman from their New York hotel room in November 2022, when they were attempting to reconcile. Cher's representatives have not commented on the latest arrest.
