BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty is reportedly being formally investigated over allegations of bullying, according to the Sun. The claims, which previously surfaced against the 50-year-old broadcaster, have now been escalated to a full investigation.
A BBC spokesperson said: “We do not comment on individual HR matters.” Munchetty joined the corporation in 2008 as a presenter on Working Lunch before moving to BBC Breakfast in 2014. She also hosts a mid-morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Munchetty earned between £355,000 and £359,999 in 2024-25, according to the BBC’s annual report. An HR adviser from PricewaterhouseCoopers has been supporting the corporation in examining the culture of the Salford-based programme.
In September, BBC Breakfast editor Richard Frediani was cleared of bullying allegations after an investigation. He had taken extended leave following the claims. Former director general Tim Davie and board chair Samir Shah vowed in April to address poor behaviour after an independent review found some “well-known names” were not being held accountable.
The review, led by Grahame Russell of Change Associates, was launched after allegations against former newsreader Huw Edwards, who received a suspended prison sentence for making indecent images of children.
