Westlife Announces New Single Ahead of 25th Anniversary World Tour

Irish pop group Westlife has revealed a new track, Your Love Amazes Me, set for release this Friday, as they gear up for their 25th anniversary world tour. The song features bandmate Mark Feehily, who is currently on a health-related hiatus from the group, and marks a return to their classic ballad style that fans have cherished since the band's early days.

A Heartfelt Ballad with a Nostalgic Touch

Speaking about the new release, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, and Kian Egan expressed their excitement, stating, 'It's wonderful to return to the type of song that many of our fans will remember from our earliest days—it's a heartfelt ballad with a beautiful story.' The track is part of their forthcoming album, 25 - The Ultimate Collection, scheduled for release next month, which celebrates their quarter-century in the music industry.

Mark Feehily's Health Challenges and Continued Involvement

Mark Feehily announced in 2024 that he would step back from Westlife indefinitely due to unspecified health issues. While he will not participate in the upcoming tour, his vocals are included on the new album tracks, including Your Love Amazes Me. In a detailed Instagram post, Feehily shared his struggles, revealing that he developed severe sepsis after surgery in 2020, leading to months in hospital during lockdown, followed by pneumonia in late 2021 and additional surgery in 2022.

Westlife's Journey and Upcoming Tour Details

Westlife rose to fame in 1998 after forming in Dublin, with the original lineup including Brian McFadden, who left in 2004. The group disbanded in 2012, with members pursuing solo careers, before reuniting in 2018 with the hit single Hello My Love and The Twenty Tour in 2019. Their 25th anniversary world tour, titled Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour, kicks off this September with a 13-date residency in Dublin, followed by dates across the UK and Europe, marking their first headline continental run in two decades. Tickets are currently available for purchase.

Band's Statement on Mark's Absence

In a heartfelt message to fans, Westlife addressed Feehily's absence, writing, 'Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always.' The band expressed gratitude for their fans' continued support over the past 25 years, emphasizing their excitement for the upcoming celebrations and new music.
