Sir Tom Jones has cancelled four shows this week after being treated in hospital for a bacterial infection. The 78-year-old singer, who is a judge on The Voice UK, apologised to fans and said he is 'determined' to return to performing.
The cancellations include concerts at Stansted Park near Portsmouth, Chester Racecourse (rescheduled for 12 August), Lingen in Germany, and Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. A statement on Twitter confirmed Sir Tom is in 'good spirits' and his condition is 'well managed under doctor's orders', with 'appropriate recovery time and rest' advised.
Sir Tom's next scheduled performance is in Turku, Finland, followed by a show at York Racecourse. He also has dates in France, Turkey, Germany, and Edinburgh in early August. The singer previously cancelled a US tour in September due to a hip replacement.
