Spice Girls Become First Female Group to Feature on Royal Mint Coins

The Royal Mint has launched a limited edition collection of Spice Girls coins, marking the first time a female group has been featured on official UK coinage. The collection, released to coincide with International Women's Month, celebrates 30 years since the group's debut single 'Wannabe' topped the charts in 1996.

Emma Bunton, known as Baby Spice, expressed her delight on Instagram, calling the honour 'incredible' and a testament to 'girl power'. The coins were created in collaboration with the group and are available in silver, gold, and colour editions, with prices ranging from £18.50 to £10,535 depending on rarity.

The most affordable piece is the Spice Girls 2026 UK £5 Brilliant Uncirculated Coin, priced at £18.50, featuring the group's logo. For collectors, uncirculated colour editions paying tribute to each Spice Girl—Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty, and Scary—are available for £29.50 each, with only 15,000 of each design minted.
