Sid Wilson has reportedly been kicked out of Slipknot, according to US reports, just four months after his split from Kelly Osbourne. A source told TMZ: "Sid was notified late Friday afternoon that he’s been permanently kicked out of the band."
The news comes after the couple called time on their engagement, which had begun with a proposal in July last year.
Band departure
Wilson joined Slipknot in 1999 as one of its nine original members. He follows the departure of other original members including Craig Jones and Chris Fehn.
Sid and Kelly ended their engagement in March this year, just after the death of legendary heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne.
Proposal and split
Sid proposed backstage at Ozzy's final gig Back To The Beginning. He said: "Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?" The couple share a three-year-old son named Sidney.
A source told the Daily Mail at the time of the split: "Kelly and Sid have decided to call off their engagement." They added: "The grieving process has been incredibly difficult, and she’s been doing everything she can to cope. In truth, she and Sid have been facing challenges in their relationship for some time, and things were not as they appeared."
History and relationship
The pair first met in 1999 at Ozzfest, the heavy metal music festival set up by her mother Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy. Back in 2022, Kelly shared a Valentine's Day post, writing: "After 23 years of friendship, I can't believe where we have ended up. You are my best friend, my soulmate, and I am so deeply in love with you, Sidney George Wilson."
