Jason Lewis, best known for playing Smith Jerrod on Sex and the City, has returned to social media after a three-year hiatus. The 54-year-old actor posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday, walking along a beach and speaking about his upcoming project.
In the video, Lewis appeared with a rugged graying beard and slicked-back brunette hair, still showcasing his chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes. He explained his absence, saying, 'Three years ago, I went quiet. Not because I had nothing to say but because I had something to do. The kind of creative work that doesn't leave room for much else, and I made my peace with that.' He added that he is still working on the project and felt it was time to share what he has been doing.
Fans reacted enthusiastically, with comments such as 'Who's more beautiful than this man???' and 'Aged like fine wine…glad to see you again.' Lewis portrayed Samantha Jones' love interest on Sex and the City from 2003 to 2004 and reprised the role in the 2008 film and 2010 sequel. He has not appeared on screen since 2020 but has an upcoming project titled Restaveks listed on his IMDb page.
In 2022, Lewis participated in Dancing With the Stars, though he was eliminated in the first round. He initially hesitated to join the show, calling it 'reality TV,' but his fiancée, actress Liz Godwin, convinced him to reconsider. He later praised the show's production and the dancers' talent.
Regarding a potential return to the Sex and the City revival And Just Like That..., Lewis said he had not been approached, adding, 'I would be the last to know! As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls.' He praised the original show's impact, noting its beautiful sets, clothing, and universal themes.
