Sam Fender has confirmed his 2027 tour across the UK and Ireland, announced in an epic Lord of the Rings inspired video on Monday night. The Seventeen Going Under singer revealed the dates for his upcoming stadium shows, including a performance at Newcastle's St James' Park.
Tour Announcement and Recent Success
The announcement comes after a remarkable 12 months for the North Shields star and his band. This time last year, they had just collected the Mercury Prize Album of the Year trophy for People Watching on home turf. Since then, Sam has won two more Brits, including Single of the Year for Rein Me In, his duet with this year's Mercury Prize nominee Olivia Dean.
Rein Me In also broke a record that had stood for more than 70 years, becoming the UK hit with the most non-consecutive weeks at number 1 in the summer.
The Reveal Video and Locations
The reveal video, captioned 'The Beacons Are Lit!', featured Sam's bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson inside St James' Park, alongside saxophone player Johnny Blue Hat. Flames were then seen shooting out of the top of the famous venue and others across the country, prompting fans to quickly identify the locations.
While no dates have been announced yet, the places set to host a Fender summer in 2027 are:
- St James' Park, Newcastle
- Etihad Stadium, Manchester
- Principality Stadium, Cardiff
- Wembley Stadium, London
- Marlay Park, Dublin
Anticipation and Prior Hints
The tour confirmation follows a huge hint at the Newcastle v Villa match on Saturday, where the message 'Proper Massive SF 27' appeared by the side of the pitch and on a screen at St James'. Fans are now eagerly awaiting new music from Sam, with the tour set for next year.
