Sam Fender 2027 tour tickets delayed by 'sophisticated bot attack'

Tickets for Sam Fender's upcoming UK and Ireland tour are now on sale, but a "sophisticated bot attack" has led to some pre-sale tickets being postponed. The 32-year-old announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour last week, which will see him play in his hometown Newcastle, as well as Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027.

Ticket prices have also been revealed after Fender publicly called out the "inflated" fees as "bulls***" and lowered them. The tour coincides with Fender's upcoming fourth studio album, announced earlier this month, which is expected to drop in "mid 2027".

Pre-sale disruption and general sale

Pre-sale tickets went on sale at 9.30am on Wednesday, October 28. Fans had until 9.30am on Monday, October 26 to sign up for presale. Fender said this morning that promoters informed him of a "sophisticated bot attack" impacting the Newcastle ticket sales. He confirmed that the St James' Park pre-sale is being moved to Thursday.

"We're going to have to move the Newcastle pre-sale to 9.30am tomorrow to ensure real fans get real tickets," Fender said. General admission tickets go on sale on Friday, October 30, at 9.30am, and anyone can try to purchase them, even without prior registration. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and See Tickets.

Ticket prices and Fender's response

Seating tickets cost £55, £75 and £95, depending on location, while standing tickets are priced at £85. All prices are before additional venue and booking fees, and exclude the £1 ticket contribution to Live Trust, which supports grassroots venues, Fender confirmed.

The musician stepped in to lower the original ticket prices after fans expressed disappointment at the high costs. The previously-announced front standing option, which would have seen fans pay as high as £130 to stand closer to the stage, has been scrapped. Fender commented on a post about the ticket prices, telling fans he is "not happy" and they're "getting changed". He said he was not aware of the tiered standing options: "It's bulls*** and won't be happening on this tour."

Fender later told fans that he managed to scrap the extra tier. "Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as many chances as anyone to be at the front. No more 120 quid standing tickets either. Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can't control the venue and ticketing fees, that's a sad reality of today's industry."

The "Rein Me In" singer will kick off the summer tour with two homecoming shows in Newcastle, concluding with two shows in Manchester. It continues on June 10 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, June 18 and 20 at London's Wembley Stadium, July 1 at Dublin's Marlay Park, July 8 at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium, and July 15 and 17 at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.
