British singer Lola Young has reassured fans she is 'doing OK' after collapsing on stage during a performance at the All Things Go festival in New York. The 24-year-old was performing at Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday when she swayed, dropped her microphone, and fell backward, as seen in footage shared on social media.
Young later posted on Instagram: 'Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now.' She had earlier told the crowd she was having 'a tricky couple of days', adding: 'Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can't continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here.'
The singer collapsed while performing the song 'Conceited' from her second album, 'This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway'. Medical staff carried her off stage as the audience cheered in support. Rapper Doechii, who performed after Young, led the crowd in a chant of 'we love you Lola' and praised her as 'an incredibly talented artist'.
Young, known for speaking openly about mental health, had cancelled a performance at New Jersey's Prudential Center on Friday. She released her third studio album, 'I'm Only F**king Myself', this month and rose to fame with her 2024 single 'Messy'. She has had three UK Top 40 singles and one UK Top 10 album, and won the Ivor Novello rising star award earlier this year.
