The second weekend of Live From Wythenshawe Park gets underway this Bank Holiday weekend, with Pulp, Courteeners and The Prodigy set to perform to more than 100,000 gig-goers. Road closures and bus diversions will be in place across Manchester City Centre and near the park.
Three shows at the south Manchester park
Pulp will open the weekend with a show on Friday night (August 28). Middleton band Courteeners follow on Saturday (August 29), and The Prodigy will round off the series on Sunday evening (August 30). Doors open at 3pm for all three shows due to the number of support acts, with two entrances: The West Gate, where VIP access is located, and The North Gate.
The first weekend saw The Cure and Lewis Capaldi perform to over 70,000 fans. The Cure delivered a 'spellbinding' show, while the Scottish singer-songwriter treated fans to an 'irreverent, funny and powerful' showcase.
Busy weekend across the city
The gigs coincide with Manchester Pride, running from Friday (August 28) to Bank Holiday Monday (August 31), and Manchester United's home fixture against Ipswich on Sunday (August 30). Extra Metrolink and shuttle bus services will operate across the three show dates to help fans reach the gig in time.
The concert series began in 2023 with Noel Gallagher headlining, and has also hosted Blossoms, New Order, Fontaines D.C. and Sam Fender. Capacity was increased to 35,000 last year, allowing more music fans to attend.

The following road closures will be in place on each event day:
- Rackhouse Road - Entire Length - 11am to 2am
- Wythenshawe Road - From its junction with Sale Road to its junction with Northolt Road - 9.30pm to 2am
- Moor Road - From its junction with Wythenshawe Road to its junction with Altrincham Road - 9.30pm to 2am
- Palatine Road - From its junction with Wythenshawe Road to its junction with Longley Lane - 9.30pm to 2am
- Greenpark Road - From its junction with Palatine Road to its junction with Homewood Road - 9.30pm to 2am
Fans have been warned to plan ahead when travelling due to the busy weekend. Tram services and roads will be busy, and those travelling are encouraged to allow plenty of time.
