Singer Pink has shared a New Year message from her hospital bed following surgery on her neck. The musician, real name Alecia Hart, revealed she was receiving 'two new shiny discs' in her neck, describing the procedure as necessary because 'Rock 'n' roll is a contact sport'. Pink, known for her aerial acrobatics during live shows, posted a photo of herself smiling with a large dressing on her neck.
In her Instagram post, she wrote: 'I want to say Happy New Year's to everyone. I am so happy to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse. I am leaving behind all of my hurt in 2025.' She added that the past year had been 'a doozy' and ran the spectrum from devastating to mildly annoying, but there was also 'so much beauty'.
The singer said she had realised dreams and nightmares, and was ending the year 'giving reverence to, paying attention to, and fixing my body'. She wrote: 'It may not be a fancy face lift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck. A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it's worth.'
Pink, who has two children with husband Carey Hart, also spoke about choosing joy and leaving behind hurt. She said she would work to help preserve the choices of others for themselves and their families. The message concluded: 'I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt. I'm going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones.'
