Pink Hospitalised for Neck Surgery, Shares Hopeful New Year's Message
Pink in hospital for neck surgery, posts New Year message

Global pop icon Pink has revealed she spent New Year's Eve in a hospital bed, recovering from surgery to place two discs in her neck. The 46-year-old singer shared the news directly with her 11.4 million Instagram followers on Wednesday night, posting a smiling selfie from her hospital room with a white bandage clearly visible on her neck.

A New Year's Eve in Hospital

In a heartfelt and reflective caption, the star, whose real name is Alecia Moore, wished her fans a Happy New Year. She expressed her relief at leaving the 'snake year' behind and welcoming in the 'horse', using Chinese zodiac symbolism. While her husband Carey Hart, 50, and their two children—daughter Willow, 14, and son Jameson, nine—were away snowboarding, Pink was focusing on her recovery.

'As I sit here by myself on New Year’s Eve in a hospital room while my family is happily snowboarding- I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made,' she wrote. The Philadelphia-born artist framed the procedure not as a cosmetic enhancement but as essential maintenance for her body, stating, 'It may not be a fancy facelift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck.'

Reflection and Resolutions for the Future

Pink described the surgery as a new scar and a reminder to appreciate her physical 'vessel', wryly noting that 'rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport'. Her message then turned to broader hopes for the coming year. She expressed a wish for everyone to have the ability to make positive choices for their happiness, acknowledging this isn't a universal reality.

The mother-of-two made a vow for 2026: 'I will work this year to help preserve the choices of others to make for themselves and their families and this very pursuit of happiness. Let’s do better for ourselves and for others.' She concluded her post with a poetic benediction, writing, 'Happy new year and may you experience more joy than sorrow, more sunshine than rain, more love than hatred. Let’s shed that old snake skin. And find our horsepower.'

Previous Health Scare and Family Life

This is not the first health-related post from the singer in recent months. Back in September 2024, Pink sparked concern among fans when she shared a photo of herself receiving an intravenous drip. She later explained she was battling an E. coli infection contracted on holiday, treating it with 'friends and daughters and red wine and a vitamin IV concoction'.

Despite her current hospital stay, Pink's family life has been a consistent source of joy. She has been married to former motocross star Carey Hart since 2006. In July, she publicly celebrated his 50th birthday with a gushing social media tribute, listing 50 reasons she loves him, including his kindness to strangers and loyalty.
