Olivia Attwood's ITV Show 'The Heat' Axed After One Series

Loose Women star Olivia Attwood has suffered a career setback after her ITV cookery competition show, The Heat, was axed after just one series. The programme, which aired earlier this year, featured top chef Jean-Christophe Novelli training 10 aspiring cooks with a romantic twist.

According to The Sun, the show failed to achieve the ratings needed to justify its high production costs. A source said: “The Heat showed a lot of promise but given that it was a long series and filmed abroad, featuring two big names, it was not cheap to make. It had to serve up some seriously meaty ratings, which it just didn’t achieve.”

The first series comprised 10 episodes but averaged only 72,000 viewers per episode. An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “There are no plans for a second series of The Heat but audiences can watch the first series on ITVX.”

However, Attwood’s other ITV2 show, Bad Boyfriends, has been renewed for another series. The news comes after a contestant on The Heat revealed that Novelli admitted to playing a character for the cameras.
