Florence + the Machine’s album earned 4.5 stars from Metro, with a reviewer calling it “almost a perfect skip-free album”. RAYE’s nomination follows her historic six Brit Awards in one night earlier in 2026.
Who Might Win the 2026 Mercury Prize?
Every nominee has a strong case. Dave previously won in 2019 for Psychodrama, while Olivia Dean and Nia Archives represent rising talent. The prize historically rewards artistic ambition over commercial success, making the outcome unpredictable. The winner will be announced on October 22 in Newcastle, where the ceremony returns for a second year after Sam Fender’s 2025 win.
Pulp, nominated in 2025, told Metro they “didn’t expect this reaction at all” to their album and Glastonbury return. Previous winners include English Teacher, Little Simz, Skepta, and Arctic Monkeys.
