Patrick Mahomes has joked that Taylor Swift appears to be trying to become a football coach, as the pop star learns the game to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
In an interview with Time published on Tuesday, the Chiefs quarterback described Swift as 'probably the most down-to-earth' famous person he has met, but noted she is 'never not working'. He said: 'Even when she's talking about football, when she's learning it, you can see her business mind putting it together. It's almost like she's trying to become a coach. 'Why can't you try this, this, and this?' She's asking the right questions.'
Mahomes acknowledged that Swift's presence helped elevate the Chiefs' profile globally, but insisted the extra attention did not distract the team. 'We just embraced it,' he said. 'We like having that visibility.'
Swift and Kelce were recently seen dancing at the Coachella music festival in California, where Swift wore a cap from Kelce's podcast, New Heights. The couple have been dating since last year, and Swift attended the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory in February.
