Reality television star Ash Galati, known for his appearance on Married At First Sight Australia, has shared the devastating news that his beloved sister, Cass, has died following a battle with cancer.
A Heartbreaking Tribute on Social Media
The 33-year-old took to his Instagram page to announce the tragic loss, posting a series of poignant photographs of his sister alongside a deeply emotional caption. He described life as "so unfair" and expressed his profound grief over his sister's passing.
"My beautiful sister Cass, I know you hated social media," Ash wrote. "We all loved you; you didn’t deserve this ending. It was so unfair." He went on to reveal the immense influence his sister had on his life, crediting her with keeping him away from a troubled path during his teenage years.
How Cass Inspired His MAFS Journey
In a touching revelation, Galati explained that one of his primary motivations for joining the 2024 series of Married At First Sight was directly linked to his sister. He shared that Cass had encouraged him to apply, saying she would watch the show during her chemotherapy sessions.
"The reason I applied for that show was that you said you’d watch it during chemo; if I got on, then forced me to apply," he recalled, adding that she had second thoughts once producers began calling. He also described Cass as a "risk-taker" and a "good cop – the ones you see in the movies," lamenting that this should not have been her ending.
Outpouring of Support from Co-Stars and Fans
The comments section of his post was quickly flooded with messages of condolence and support from friends, fans, and fellow MAFS stars. Tori Adams, a co-star from the show, commented, "Oh Ash. my deepest deepest condolences to you and your family."
Another MAFS alumnus, Jack Dunkley, added: "Your sister would be so proud of you Ash. Your generosity & your gift you bring into people’s life. She is in a better place my guy RIP Cass." Followers also shared their sympathies, with one writing, "Oh god ash… Im so sorry. Absolutely devastating. Sending endless love & my deepest condolences man."
Ash Galati first found fame on the 2024 season of Married At First Sight Australia, where he was paired with psychic medium Madeleine Maxwell. Their relationship was portrayed as rocky on the programme and ultimately did not lead to a lasting marriage.
