Rapper Mack Maine has announced the death of his 20-year-old son Isaiah, also known as Zeke, who died after suffering a seizure at his home in California on July 16. The 43-year-old record executive and songwriter, whose real name is Jermaine Anthony Preyan, shared the news in an emotional Instagram post, saying he had been 'trying to build up the strength' to speak publicly.
In his post, Maine described his son as his 'greatest inspiration' and 'SONshine', and expressed his devastation at the loss. He also mentioned that his father had died two years ago on July 28, which is also his birthday, and urged others to 'hug the ones you love and squeeze em tight'. The photos he shared included images of Isaiah holding a sign reading 'LSU Bound'.
The rapper received an outpouring of support from fellow artists, including Nicki Minaj, who wrote, 'I don't even believe what I just read… We are praying for your whole family, Mack.' 2 Chainz and La La Anthony also offered condolences. Maine is best known for serving as president of Lil Wayne's label Young Money Entertainment and co-writing several songs.
