Scottish singer-songwriter M. John Henry is set to bring a special acoustic celebration of De Rosa’s acclaimed debut album Mend to Airdrie Town Hall.
20th anniversary performance
Marking 20 years since the release of Mend, the intimate live performance on Friday, October 16, will see M. John Henry revisit the songs that helped establish De Rosa as one of Scotland’s most distinctive alternative bands.
M. John Henry is the solo guise of Lanarkshire musician Martin John Henry, who founded De Rosa and went on to release three critically acclaimed albums with the band between 2006 and 2016.
Solo career and collaborations
Since embarking on his solo career, Henry has released two solo albums, The Other Half of Everything and Strange Is The Way, while collaborating with some of Scotland’s most respected musicians and artists, including Malcolm Middleton, King Creosote and Barry Burns of Mogwai.
The 20th anniversary of Mend comes at a particularly fitting time, following the release of Henry’s 2026 album Early Songs, Of Late.
Album features early material
The album features reworked and newly performed versions of songs from his early De Rosa material, offering a fresh perspective on a body of work that has remained important to fans of Scottish alternative music.
M. John Henry’s Airdrie Town Hall performance promises a special opportunity to hear these songs in an intimate acoustic setting, celebrating two decades of music while looking back at the songs and stories that helped shape his career.
