Ken Bruce has revealed that the PopMaster TV team "picked up where we left off" after the programme's hiatus, as the new series is set to return following a break of around 18 months.
The radio legend, who has been recording the new series in Glasgow, said it was "fabulous" to be back in the hot seat for the new season of the More4 music quiz, which is a spin-off of the enduring radio quiz PopMaster.
"It was lovely to get back into the studio, and the old crew, everybody we'd worked with before, just about, and we just picked up where we left off, even after that gap," he said.

"So, it was really fantastic just to get back in the seat, and we started firing off and recording all these shows, and great fun it was," Ken went on.
The last series of the programme wrapped up last year, but it is now set to return for a new run, according to reports.
PopMaster's History
PopMaster's radio quiz started in 1998 on BBC Radio 2 as part of Ken's mid-morning show. It later moved with the star when he went to Greatest Hits Radio in 2023.
That same year the TV version was launched, with hopefuls battling through a succession of demanding rounds, all culminating in the Original PopMaster finale and the opportunity to claim the prized gold disc at the end.
Viewer Success
It proved to be a success with viewers, with Channel 4 saying that in 2025 the third and fourth series of PopMaster TV reached a total of 3.3 million people in the UK across all episodes, and that it was "one of More4's top performing titles".
Earlier this year, Channel 4 and Bright Entertainment, which is an ITV Studios company, confirmed the commission of two new series and two celebrity specials, following four successful series on More4.
Speaking when the two new series and the specials were announced, Ken said: "It's been a joy to see the success of PopMaster TV grow, and I am delighted to be back filming once again."
He added: "I am very much looking forward to testing the brilliant knowledge of pop music fans everywhere."
PopMaster TV is available on Channel 4.
