Liam Gallagher has told fans to “be excited” but also to be patient as they await official confirmation of a 2027 Oasis tour with dates in Manchester and Knebworth. The frontman has been on X, formerly Twitter, discussing the tour with fans and, while he stopped short of confirming anything, he gave fans the impression an announcement could come soon.
“Smash things up” but wait for the announcement
When one fan asked on Monday “do you not want us to be excited?” Liam replied: “Yes of course be excited, smash things up. But these things take time to announce if they’re getting announced. I’m all for announcing things if they need to be announced but just coz you got something to announce doesn’t mean you should announce.”
With the expected dates almost a year away, Liam added in another response to a fan: “I don’t know why everyone is rushing around, it’s making me anxious, chill the **** out.” This morning a fan also asked Liam if Oasis could make future shows free for fans, and Liam responded: “You wouldn’t appreciate it if they were free.”
Etihad and Knebworth dates expected
Sources close to the band have confirmed to the Mirror the band plan to play Manchester City’s Etihad stadium, most likely beginning in June. They will then return to Knebworth, the scene of their biggest ever gigs, later in the year with weekend slots most likely in September. Full confirmation of the tour and ticket prices are now just weeks away.
The band’s former publicist Johnny Hopkins is sure the shows will happen and also says he expects the tickets to be reasonably priced and possibly cheaper than the most expensive tickets at the Oasis Live 25 reunion shows. At a Q&A event last week he said: “I imagine they will do it more reasonably. I was really surprised the tickets were done in the way they were. Ticketmaster put their hands up and took the blame for it.”
Announcement held back for documentary
The Mirror understands that any official announcement about tickets for the 2027 shows is being held back whilst the new documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger is publicised and promoted. The London Premiere takes place on September 7 and so tickets may well go on sale after this date or after promotion has finished. Both Noel and Liam are expected at the premiere in London and the World premiere at the Venice film festival.
The Manchester dates for Oasis, thought to be a total of 12 nights, were first revealed by the Mirror’s sister paper the Manchester Evening News. They are also set to play a run of six gigs at Knebworth held over several weekends.
The band’s 2025 reunion gigs were seen by many music fans as amongst the greatest they have ever seen, with huge demand for tickets. The new 2027 dates are also expected to sell out within hours of tickets going on sale. The reunion announcement in 2024 came 15 years after Noel quit the Britpop band, saying he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer”, following a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. The 2025 tour kicked off in Cardiff in July before visiting Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park throughout July, August and September. The group then headed to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America.
The band is led by lead guitarist Noel and his frontman brother Liam. Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993, rising to fame with the release of their debut chart-topping album Definitely Maybe on August 29 1994 followed by (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? Which became one of the biggest selling albums ever released in 1995.
