Fans of singer Leona Lewis have received exciting news, with the artist confirming work on her first new studio album in more than ten years, scheduled for release in 2025.
A Long-Awaited Return to the Studio
The 40-year-old X Factor winner, currently performing a residency show in Las Vegas, last released an album in 2015. That record, titled I Am, peaked at Number 12 in the UK charts and Number 38 in the US, producing singles including 'Fire Under My Feet', 'I Am', and 'Thunder'.
In a recent statement, Lewis shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming project. "I've actually been in and out of the studio for the past couple of years," she said. "It's been a real labour of love and I'm planning to share music next year."
Recent Health Woes Force Show Cancellation
The album announcement comes shortly after the 'Bleeding Love' star was forced to cancel a performance of her 'A Starry Night Christmas' show at the Voltaire venue in Las Vegas. Lewis took to Instagram to explain the last-minute cancellation, citing a severe sore throat.
"I have been battling a sore throat for the past few days and while I tried pushing through tonight's show, it has only left me feeling worse," she wrote to her fans. The singer confirmed she would be on vocal rest to recover fully, offering refunds or rescheduled tickets to affected attendees.
A Storied Career Since X Factor
Leona Lewis rose to fame after winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006. Her career since has included five studio albums:
- Spirit (2007)
- Echo (2009)

- I Am (2015)
Her festive album is particularly renowned for the now-iconic track 'One More Sleep'. The confirmation of new material marks a significant and eagerly anticipated next chapter for the acclaimed vocalist, following her successful Las Vegas residency and a period focused on her health and creative process.
