Country music star Lainey Wilson has revealed that her upcoming wedding to former Pittsburgh Steelers player Devlin 'Duck' Hodges will feature a jazz band rather than country artists. The singer shared the surprising detail in an interview with Taste of Country Nights, explaining that she and her fiancé are opting for a different musical vibe on their big day.
Wilson, 32, confirmed her engagement in February 2025 with a series of photos showing the proposal at a mansion, where Hodges presented a bespoke diamond ring estimated to cost $250,000. The ring features three diamonds of around 2.5 carats each, arranged to resemble a flower, according to diamond expert Mike Fried.
The singer joked that her fiancé will be emotional during the ceremony, saying 'Duck will be a mess' when she walks down the aisle. She also noted that her father will give her away, but quipped that he is unlikely to cry: 'I ain’t seen that man cry once in my whole life.'
Wilson and Hodges met in 2021 and kept their relationship private before going public at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards in 2023. The couple had previously joked about Wilson proposing, with the singer once telling Taste of Country: 'I guess I'm going to propose cause his [expletive] ain't proposed to me.'
