Kylie Minogue turned heads on Thursday evening as she switched on the Christmas lights at Battersea Power Station, wearing a striking fire-red latex dress. The 57-year-old pop icon, known for her bold fashion choices, opted for a custom piece by Atsuko Kudo, featuring a mermaid skirt and long sleeves, paired with De Beers jewellery for extra sparkle.
The event saw the singer illuminate a 40-foot Christmas tree in Malaysia Square and the power station's four iconic chimneys. She hyped the crowd with chants of 'XMAS' and teased her new Amazon Music song, before being joined by the Battersea Power Station Community Choir for a medley of Christmas classics including 'Let It Snow' and 'Santa Baby'.
HELLO!'s Deputy Features Editor Sophie Hamilton, who was in the crowd, described Kylie as 'amazing and radiant', noting she taught the audience her XMAS dance moves. In promotional pictures released later, Kylie posed in a second outfit – a blue David Koma dress with giant bows and a thigh-high split, accessorised with matching cobalt heels.
Fans who missed the surprise can visit the exclusive Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped) pop-up shop at Battersea Power Station from 5 to 7 December, offering limited-edition merchandise. Kylie said of the evening: 'It's been such a magical night... I absolutely loved turning on the Christmas lights and seeing everyone getting into the festive spirit.'
