Kimberly Wyatt has described the Pussycat Dolls' reunion tour as an "unbelievable" experience, saying that being back on stage with Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts felt like a dream come true. The mum-of-two has just completed the European leg of the PCD Forever World Tour and has also released a new single, 'The Beat in Your Heart', for The Toymaker's Key universe.
Reunion with Bandmates
Speaking to Express.co.uk days before travelling to Brazil, Wyatt said: "The European tour was unbelievable. It was such a huge dream come true. It feels like it was a dream, but being back on stage with the girls was so powerful, and we're so united, and to share that with the fans every single night was just unbelievable. Performing 'Stick With You' and seeing all the phones and lights lighting up the whole arena was just magical."
For Wyatt, reuniting with Nicole and Ashley was an easy decision. "It's a bit like family. It's almost hard to put into words, but, you know, we've grown a lot as women. We've grown a lot in our own lives, projects and creations. Ashley and I both moved to the UK," she explained. "To finally get back into the Pussycat Dolls world, it's almost like no time has passed at all and you're just linking back together. And when you find people that you can share a professional talent with, as we do, and have fun while you're doing it, it's just epic. So, to be able to link back in and see that we could create a new chapter has been unreal."
Tour Highlights
Reflecting on the tour's highlights, Wyatt told the Express: "Performing at the 02 with all our friends and everybody in the audience felt like coming home. London was just unbelievable."
"Paris was our first sold-out show, so just hearing the level of noise, getting excited for the show to start, would give me chills. I DJ'd at Soho House just after the Paris show, and Nick, Ash, all the dancers, and the team came out and had a really good boogie. It's those little moments that you always remember."
Christmas Plans and New Project
While Wyatt is busy, the mum-of-three is looking forward to the festive period, though she is not in Christmas mode yet. "The fact that you can already see Christmas stuff on the shelves is pretty frightening," she laughs. "I can't start Christmas shopping until after Halloween."
With December approaching, Wyatt is excited for the holiday season. "I love getting cosy, getting the fire on, making hot chocolates, cooking with the kids, and baking cookies," she noted. "We always host Christmas at our house, so it's getting all the food ordered and putting together a list of to-dos and just making it magical."
Wyatt has also joined the cast of The Toymaker's Key, a creative universe curated without AI. The multi-platform project includes a graphic novel, a motion-comic film, and several accompanying tracks. Explaining her involvement, Wyatt said: "I met him [creator Andy Turner] years and years ago, when he was a director at The Clothes Show Live, and I was a special guest performer, with a huge cast of 20 dancers and 20 models."
"Being able to get to know him as a visionary, a creative, choreographer and director, I was just in awe of how talented Andy is. We've kept in touch over the years, and, you know, this is his baby. This is his story, and his idea of creating this independent British graphic novel and motion comic and music universe, and it's been 10 years in the making, but I came on board to voice MaNa."
"She's a shaman, and she's sort of like the wise matriarch of the butterfly tribe in The Toymaker's Key, and in the story of this whole world that he's put together, there's a lot of integrity; there are a lot of messages that I feel are really necessary and true, especially for today."
"There's a whole music universe that's part of this motion comic, and it was amazing to get in the studio with both Andy, who's produced the tracks, as well as Kele Le Roc. Kele's just so cool, and she's such a big part of this project, and I've always wanted to work with Kele, so being able to work with her on 'The Beat in Your Heart' has just been pretty awesome."
Kimberly Wyatt's new single 'The Beat in Your Heart' is now available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music. More information about The Toymaker's Key graphic novel and motion comic film can be found on the project's website.
